Wildfire Smoke Protection
During smoke events, a standard 1" filter is nearly useless. We install deep-pleat MERV 13 media cabinets sized so airflow stays unrestricted — the only proven way to drop indoor PM2.5 below 12 µg/m³.
Humidity Control
Sonoma's dry winters and humid late-summers cause both cracked wood floors and mold in bathrooms. A whole-home humidifier or dehumidifier solves both at the source.

Will a UV light kill viruses in my home?+
Properly sized UV-light purifiers installed in the air handler can deactivate a high percentage of airborne microbes that pass over them. We size and place units per manufacturer guidance.
What are HEPA filters and how do they work?+
A HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) filter is a dense pleated media filter rated to capture at least 99.97% of particles 0.3 microns in size — that's fine dust, pollen, mold spores, smoke, and most bacteria. Air is forced through a tight mat of randomly arranged fibers that trap particles by interception, impaction, and diffusion.
What are the benefits of HEPA filters?+
The biggest benefit is genuinely cleaner indoor air — meaningful reductions in allergens, wildfire smoke particulate (PM2.5), pet dander, and many airborne pathogens. People with asthma, allergies, or respiratory sensitivities tend to notice the difference within days.
Is my HVAC filter enough?+
For most homes, no. The standard 1" filter that ships in a furnace is rated only to catch lint and protect the equipment — not to clean the air you breathe. We typically upgrade homes to a 4–5" deep MERV 13 media cabinet, which gets you about 90% of true-HEPA performance without restricting airflow.
